You want people to perform - pay them well... nothing like disgruntled staff to stiffle moral and productivity. not saying that MO is performing well but the company are winning projects.
If you went to the open market for a CEO - do you think you the new CEO remuneration would be higher or lower than MO's package?
Obviously the lower the pay packets are they better it is for cash-flow but you lose talent and can't attract staff if you are frugal with your pay rates. Obviously you can attract people who just like the cash and offer nothing to the business. I've seen it before when you had graduates engineers getting cpi pay increases per year and new grads come in on way higher cash. The older grads get angry and don't perform or leave. or good staff are on 90K then a "golden haired person" comes in at 30K more doing less and the old staff leave in disgust.
