For info of any shareholders that weren't at the recent AGM?
I attended and I think there were about 7 or 8 of us in the room, not a large crowd, the rest were ABV directors/staff etc. It was an analytical crowd and certainly not negative.
An interesting point brought up was that aside from the larger waste companies they were actually getting a bit of interest from smaller councils with one example given that a priority concern for one was the removal of brake sequel for residents, not necessarily cost as the foremost consideration.
The review by the chairman and long term plan bodes well. I don't look upon the chairmans comments necessarily as being negative, more of a forthright assessment from the new chairman seeking to give his own stamp to ABV and re-evaluate the current way things are done with an aim to improvement. A shakeup sometimes is a good thing. It would be more of a disappointment if there did not appear to be any drive to improve or move foreword from a new chairman.
Don't forget aside from his personal assessment he still thinks we have a good product with potential.
The above being said the prior chairman saw a very big improvement in the company and it's revenue, so kudo's to him, hopefully this one will do likewise even more so considering his own automotive specific achievements and experience.
One other thing I gathered was that the 6 month assessment and 3 year plan does not necessarily lock in a particular stance for the company.
Aside from concentrating on the local market next year they also intend to exhibit at US and other international waste exhibits aside from their normal mining conferences so it appears that increasing US and international awareness of the SIB'S will still be pursued concurrently with the local plans.
I think we are now moving onto the next chapter of ABV.
