Everyone prefers high profit dairy farms. Their farm cost do seem to be out of kilter to production.
Perhaps they do not know that it is dearer to grow 1kg. mgs. energy than it is at most times to feed in concentrates with a mix of pasture and other feed stuffs. Do they know how many kgs. a cow needs for maintenance and how many to produce milk.
Perhaps they are trying to milk too many cows on their productive land, just think how many times a cow s's
and p's during the day, cows do not like to graze it and neither would we the more per paddock the less useable feed.
The most important thing in the whole plan of vertical intergration is to get it right at farm level, get the production to a level to warrant a processing facility.
