I agree they offer similar services. The major difference being that I see SKF as being data analytics specialists, where TOM seem to be equally focussed on wifi services and analytics (from a brief look at their investor pres).
I can't really give you the comparison but I can tell you what I see in SKF.
Why is SKF better than TOM in this space ?
SKF business model is clear and they have delivered on it quiet aggressively so far. They are targeting major retail property owners in Australia, NZ, Indonesia, South Africa; trialling it in one or more of their venues, and then rolling out to all venues upon successful trial. This strategy has given them access to >10,000 retailers so far.
The fact that they aren't so bothered about managing the wifi, more the analytics, allowed them to collaborate with Optus for the Scentre Group rollout.
I am also concerned that even though SKF have better shareholders they were forced to raise money so soon after listing whereas TOM look to be fully funded given the business already breakeven on an EBITDA basis ??
"The issue price for New Shares under the Placement will be 22 cents per share, being a premium of 10% to the Company’s last capital raising in November 2014, and an 18.9% premium to the closing share price on ASX the trading day immediately before conducting the Placement."
Pretty impressive really.
