"In Aus grease monkeys are mechanics and the only mechanics on site are there to maintain the vehicles. The people installing the modules would be riggers, boilermakers and fitters before the electric work is completed by sparkies.
By referring to grease monkeys it only confirms my suspicions that you are clueless when it comes to processing plants and the closest you ever came to one was when you looked at one on the glossies or googled for pics of one."
A very high percentage of fitters now days were mechanics (grease monkeys), good for fa. The auto industry uses them as cheap labor whilst they are apprentices, and charging the consumer $80-$125 per hour, finish their apprenticeship get a new batch of cheap labor. There are more people working in Australia as fitters whom have never done a fitting apprenticeship, than those that have, and they are on all major construction sites.
hOrcO I know your answer was to Aus, but from what you have have written, it is you who are the clueless one here in this regard.
