It is all spiralling down to a sad end it seems. As I have said before the big issue is that the current Beta machine doesn't really work. PPY are not even bothering to run it full time. And it appears the chipboard has issues (and who knows what they are- (too brittle? breaks down?? won't hold fasteners??? who knows????)
The future depends on the new Egyptian machines actually working- who knows????? And then having enough money to keep going.
Prediction: PPY goes under, and the shiny new machines stay in Egypt, and end up 100% Egyptian owned.
As for Fibanco- they claim their material is 'hand-made'- so maybe they have gone lo-tech rather than ripped off PPY's dud machine- who knows??????
Based on the current Beta production rate PPY can only be a cottage industry in low wage countries, hardly the industrial revolutionary we all dreamed of.
