Is always an interesting situation seeing someone take shares as form of payment kev........on the one hand you would think it a foolish individual to accept shares if things are about to take a turn for the worst, therefore it can only be an indicator that in fact the value of the company is set to move forward in leaps and bounds.
On the other hand as Houndie eluded to, the shares may be the only form of payment the company can make at present assuming there is a funding shortfall.....of course that also assumes that the party being paid accepts said shares as payment afterall an invoice rendered here in Australia requires a GST component to be included which would have to be paid at the end of this month.
Then of course there is the tax implications to consider which you would think only makes the argument for success even stronger, as well as any conditions set down regarding the disposal of the shares.
