A quick look on Google suggests that you're probably correct, whether thats an issue or not remains to be seen.
Given the age of the mine, there was probably stampers on-site in the early days which aren't that efficient, so there could still be a prize there in parts of the tailings dam if sufficient sampling was undertaken. The information made available todate suggests that only limited work has been done.
