does make sense to have their own proprietary extraction method. they can then sell the technology to other companies for equity along with being a producer themselves.
big IF , I have similar thoughts on this though as you. I never could understand the Lilac piece of the puzzle when there are other companies who could've assisted in this space . this makes route to market cheaper and easier. in-house servicing etc.
only speculation of course.
