Put it this way, DW has far more to gain from a successful company here than he would ever make from a wage. He has enormous skin in the game and his interests lie squarely with ours. I suggest you do a lot of research before you allow unfounded suspicions to impair your world view here. Always do your homework/background checks before bringing out the nukes. There still are and always will be good guys around. You are right to be wary of sharks however because unfortunately there are plenty of these unethical beasts patrolling many of the boardrooms these days. Fortunately there are still directors around with integrity and as such these should always be treated with respect.
