Thankyou Mr Stuart Grimshaw for calling out the banks so strongly and the hypocrisy of people cheering on the abolishment of SACC lending.
One phrase in particular I would like to share again here:

"When people who have never had an issue in obtaining credit, start determining how people who cannot get access to credit should behave, then we have a problem."

As someone who has in the past been completely unable to obtain credit in any form from a bank and quite literally just avoided homelessness via a "payday loan" I find it downright disgusting the way the banks and the bandwagon jumpers have treated this issue.
The loan I obtained was a bloody ripoff, although it was absolutely necessary, it was NEEDED plain and simple.
I have never needed it again and now I'm fortunate enough I never will although if I had relied on the "traditional banking" system I would have been much worse off, most likely bankrupted and most definitely homeless for a period.
This is not a pretty industry but it exists through necessity, this necessity exists because NO ONE else will serve these people!
Here's what Mr Grimshaw has to say about the customers the banks REFUSE TO SERVE:

"We believe that the customers we serve are an integral part of the fabric of this wonderful nation and we are proud to serve them."

Funnily enough the banks would probably say that about me now I have money LOL, not so much when I had nothing.

I highly recommend people read page 4 of the Annual Report (and the rest obviously if time permits).
