You have just wasted a few minutes of your life trying to explain the obvious to him. All the knowledge/information about REH that he needs is already out there in the open, free to be consumed.
These quotes come to mind:
"You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink"
"Never wrestle with a pig. You get dirty, and besides, the pig likes it"
"An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers"
As long as he is happy, just let him be, he's harmless and after all it's his free time after work.
P.S. I have to admit that it's such a shame that REH forum has to be tainted in this manner.
