    Guys, please read this link....

    https://hotcopper.com.au/help/guidelines/

Lately there has been an increased use of "profanity", goading and/ or inflammatory comments that will only end up in people getting warnings/ suspensions or posts being reported and removed - that leads to disrupted threads.

While the language is relatively innocuous it will escalate in severity "to get your point across". While the mods say to write as if you were talking to someone in a conversation I am sure we can articulate ourselves without using "expletives". Sometimes well placed swear words are all thats needed, and some terms can be interpreted in so many ways... but people can be overly fragile these days...

oh and so that this post has relevance to the thread.. I wouldn't be too concerned about some shadow politician's compliant - he obviously isn't close to the project as he's had to do a FOI request. I suspect that whilst Synergy/ Western Power has no provision for anything at this time, in future requirements and build schedules that may change. Mostly the Western Powers or Water Corps and Main Roads will do their infrastructure budgets etc out outside of political wrangling (Main Roads is a bit different). At time the last review was done perhaps that were told not to consider the Wave site in budget requirements as it may not have been approved by arena or state govt at that time.

I've worked on public works projects and mining projects where we're told to ignore future things that were almost certain to occur - as it was outside of the scope. In some cases provisioning one extra turnout in stage 3 of a rail upgrade would have meant huge savings in stage 5 but as the "stage 4 and 5 wasn't accepted by the board at time of stage 3 then we couldn't accomodate for it in any way...". People tend to be risk adverse and if someone said upgrade the substation or install a new one and Albany didn't happen then the same politician would be Bleating that Western Power/ Synergy were mismanaging their budgets.

As the project is due in 2020 it is likely there will be an upgrade in the pipeline. There nothing stopping CCE building the wave farm and have the connection made in stage 2 when the 20MW units are done. Possibly CCE will have a scope that includes provision for a new substation that is handed over to Western Power.

Now shut the front door and enjoy your Friday night!!!
