As I commented around the first Albany timeline announcement, the only justification for the timeline would be a hopefully soon to be released redesign announcement incorporating some of the tech from the various collaborations into the device. Otherwise the previously signed off /completed / tested Ceto 6 design should be in the water next year.

The new design needs to have specs and $/kWh targets to make it commercial in the short/medium term purely based on scale of deployment not some future r&d problem to reduce material or manufacture cost.

In terms of the specific buoy here I’m guessing the previous data collection was generic and capturing the overall regions resouece. This one would be very specifically targeted for the first device.
