SL. "Reality" is "the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them.

You and your team are condemning something BEFORE that idea has been given the opportunity to actually exist.

THAT is called PESSIMISM, " a state of mind in which one anticipates undesirable outcomes or believes that the evil or hardships in life outweigh the good or luxuries. Value judgments may vary dramatically between individuals.
