Always thought there may be a tie up there at some stage. Bev sold his first co to David Teoh remember.  AFR article in June this year also mentioned that they still like to chew the fat over some dim sum every so often. 

I just hope it’s not the loyal shareholders that miss out on the upside of this. Does anyone remember how much Blackstone have in this? Between them and Bevans share I can’t see anyone getting this for a steal.

I wonder if TPG or Vodafone will be interested in taking over SLC at all now that their merger is thwarted? Probably not TPG as they already got the pipes I would think, but if TPG wants the 5G network in future then it's possible..Vodafone will benefit from the pipes that SLC has, and the 5G milimeter wave that SLC could offer..
