The way I interpret this is as follows:
A leading brand owner is investing even more into the R&D that backs that leading brand, and is also making a very substantial investment in the infrastructure and systems that links the brand with its various markets.
Precedence points to that sort of corporate strategy resulting in outcomes that are most favourable.
