I've been pro-nuclear for a long time, but given the long lead time to get one approved and built (not to mention the vast amount of time it would take to convince the nation to even consider beginning the process as we are very anti-nuclear), I wonder if the progress with renewables and storage over that long period might make it redundant? I don't know enough about timetables to know, but I would think nuclear reactors (at least new ones) might be outdated by the time one could/would be built in Australia?

A tiny bit off-topic I suppose, though if nuclear would still be furlongs ahead of renewables and storage by the time one could be a) lobbied, b) sourced, c) regulated, d) funded and e) built and integrated, AND have a worthwhile shelf-life after that long lead time, then it would be a cracking asset. Might be a bit big for AGL though
