The ‘question of ethics’ I am referring to is when companies take capacity off market and lockup fixed resources so they benefit while dis-proportionally hurting the local community, employees and the wider community. So, when the net benefit is negative and the only benefit goes to the company, then there is a question of ethics to consider. There is probably an element of this because AGL seems to be doing more than closing a worthless site, it is actively stopping anyone else from coming in to operate that site.
