My gripe is the number of posters who write-"loose" when they actually mean
-"lose".
Until recently this was almost exclusively an American phenomena. I think it comes from the way they say it, "loooozah". So they spell it "looser". Interestingly, in every culture different insults have different impacts. Insulting a person's mother in Italy is a lot worse than in the UK, for example. But in America the word "loser" is just about the biggest insult you can hand out.
