most ~90% is imported from Colorado or Canada
local production gets 10-20% over Henry Hub
Sacramento Basin is the historic gas province with under used reticulation and local gas to electricity plants
Price fluctuates but conventional gas especially a large discovery will be very profitable
Gas is a long term, price sensitive game but infrastructure and a market bigger than most countries is not a bad start imo
