So this was from today's court release in relation to the J&J and Ethicon Pelvic Mesh case. The document shows the request to submit one of the lead claimants tax return and PAYG summary to the court.

Now, this MAY be important, and I am speculating here but it seems likely, because it could be an indication that the parties have begun, or are already in the process of, negotiating over the amount of compensation due to the injured parties.

You would use the tax summaries for assessing the amount of income prior to the injury and then project this number forward to assess the total losses over the claimants career.

If any of this turns out to be the case then we may find that a settlement is not only confirmed ( no judgement needed or give by the court ) and likely to occur quite soon....
