Gday Oz
as always we ponder what will see AMU sp reach fair value. I went to the AGM (did anyone else go?) and left with the sense that a number of initiatives implemented and yet to be finalised will make a big difference to the company. The reduction in debt and subsequent savings on inteest payments will have a significant effect on cashflow as will the bringing inhouse of various functions. These savings will not set the market on fire but will intime (i believe) alleviate the perception that AMU is carrying too much debt, this has been a monkey on the companies back for a while now.
The TNT acquisition will add the greatest benefit of these initiatives and could be a catalyst for sp appreciation.
Still at the end of the day AMU is an oil and gas Co and the sp will IMO be driven by success with the drill. Something AMU has a good track record with. The exploration program this year looks to me to be highly targeted at adding some serious value with success on some big targets.
Regardless of current sp, which as you point out may be stifled by recent raising, the fundamentals of this company are solid imo and with such a low p/e and many of the 'issues' of the past behind AMU, one hopes the sp will rise to fair value
