lewieboy - i suspect and hope the share price will go a bit higher but have you done some numbers on how much they would have made if they were just doing what they do well and that is breeding cattle and yes some finishing in feedlots would be advantageous -but really their numbers are not good -you spoke some of the truth when you said buying in expensive external cattle!! I have been stating for a while on these threads that the breeding operation was subsidising the value adding as they were likely selling too cheap to the other divisions!!
maybe if cattle prices tank this operation (the vertically integrated value adding thing it is now ) may capture some margin, but i suspect their costs are way way too high!!
