I think a lot of the future profitability for CCE's microgrid business hinges on WA state government legislation.
Currently they are working on legislation that will allow BESS and SAP owner/operators to be properly compensated for the job they can do to support the grid or microgrids.
With the proposed 60 stand alone power systems demonstration just around the corner, as well as a number of BESS in the process of being built, the need for legislation that smooths the way is urgent.
EMC having partaken in various projects involving this type of technology, would I think have had some input into how the legislation will be framed.
It would be good if the government announced the new legislation in the next two weeks. If they do, MO will have a lot more to pass on at the roadshows.
