I still think they need to change the dynamic here, why not buy the dormant www.home.com.au?

Then they could have a website for 

- Home sales

- Rentals

- Leasing commercial spaces

With a Home sales platform (where the money really exists in Real Estate), they could start charging Real Estate agents for subscriptions each month and slowly start to monetise the different platforms apart from just advertising. 

Having a home sales platform could also see them extend the Rental moving in services (power, water, insurance, etc) that they push for Rent.com.au. 

They can also convert Renters to Buyers over time.
