Don't get too fussed about it. Look at the yearly chart, and you'll see it's a predictable pattern.
The volume isn't huge, and probably indicates a successful strategy of playing pips for profit; and profit is what it's all about!
(Unfortunately, it's not me doing the playing. Coming in at at 0.042 doesn't really allow for it...)
