Today is Ex-Div date so everyone who was holding at yesterday's close gets the dividend. That means for those who are only hunting for dividends, there is no longer reason for them to hold so they all rush for the exits on today's open trying to get out at the highest price possible during the inevitable drop. Hence the price action.
