Does anyone have any insight into the legs on Riva Star?

I understand the general benefits over just using SDF but it seems like this knowledge/product has been around for a while now and is just sort of plodding along.

I also understand that it might need reclassification by the FDA/TGA before it can be sold and marketed as something other than a desensitiser.

There is also the fact that the treatment plan calls for the infected and affected dentine to be removed but current common practice seems to be OK with leaving the affected dentine in place and only removing the infected dentine. I understand the logic to remove both the infected and affected dentine (and if I had caries I would want everything but the non-affected dentine gone) but I'm more wondering on this point if dentists will have a natural negative response because it goes against how they were taught to treat caries.

The comments I have read and heard in that recent podcast thread from a month or so ago appear positive but I'm trying to figure out what might be a bit of spin/hype and whether or not Riva Star actually represents a big leap forward.
