We are now two months without a CEO and no public indication of what we are doing to fill the position. Between us all we have not seen the position advertised anywhere. This would seem to indicate that they are head hunting someone (tapping someone on the shoulder). Clearly they did not have a plan B when the last CEO resigned after a couple of weeks, as per my previous post, I find this situation troubling. The list of people we could approach, even if we include Canadians, Americans and Germans is not long, if we want SOP experience. Shorter still if we want SOP salt lake experience.
Have we approached a number of people who have turned the gig down? Who knows? Uncertainty is part of the problem.
I would think that this time we are looking for direct SOP experience rather than someone with mining experience and transferable skills. My mail is that the last CEO left after such a short time because it was not until he was actually in the job that he realised how different a gig it was to his previous work. The only thing worse for the sp than having no CEO would be reappointing the old one.
