Certainly not looking for plaudits and praise here. I will try and be factual and objective, but of course investing always involves some subjective views.
This thread will be useful to all of us if we debate the pros and cons of LiveTiles and challenge each others assumptions. All of my working life I have always been as interested in listening to people who disagree with me as people who agree with me. When I am buying a stock I want to understand why someone is selling it to me and when I am selling a stock , I want to know why someone is buying it from me. I confess to "being in the business" but I have learnt never to underestimate the common sense of the retail investor who has done his or her homework.
Parts 2 and 3 of my commentary will have to wait until tomorrow (which is today for you due to the time difference). The commentary is only intended to set up the basis of discussion. Im not going to give the answers.....Im going to provide the information...Im expecting you guys to have views as valid as my own.
But....spoiler alert.....here is the direction Im going in. 1. Yes we own some stock. It is a reasonable number of shares but it is by no means a full holding 2. On balance I think it is probably a buy but I want to see a couple more pieces of evidence drop into place before adding to the position 3. Most importantly I would like to see solid evidence that LVT have reached an inflection point in terms of cash burn. The March end quarter will be important to me. Cash burn seemed to turn the corner in December. I want to see solid evidence from at least one more quarter that cash burn is decreasing. LVT have indicated that revenues and ARR are continuing to grow but they have also suggested in their C4 that expenses will decline significantly. Its been my experience with Tech that it is easier to promise cost reductions than deliver. It will be a very important marker that management can not only deliver growth but that they can manage the company, people and expense line as well. We'll see.
In the meantime, we own enough shares to be modestly pleased by todays further move (although I think that moves like today are just "noise" in a stock like this.) Doubtless we will be frustrated if it takes off before we have bought more, but I am a patient, data driven investor and if waiting for more information means I have to pay 45 for a further tranche, so be it.
G'night VMK
