I don't think airborne magnetic surveys are useful in areas with historical mining.
i live in such an area. There are large abandoned steel objects scattered over a wide area leaching rust into the soil. Airborne surveys see them as an anomaly- a place to drill? No just an abandoned piece of junk.
Airborne surveys on virgin ground that's a much better idea.
In the end it's core samples that count.
Boots on the ground.
Use the air miles elsewhere.
