After 25 yrs my petrol lawn mower gave up the ghost so after all those years of service decided it had had a good run time for a new one I went down to my local Masters to see what was available there and saw a special on the Kobalt range of battery mowers I thought ok I'll buy one nearly half price and I like a bargain also I wanted to see whether all the lithium battery hype had substance on a larger tool needing plenty of grunt.
I had been away for a few weeks and the lawn was in dire need of a cut even before I was away.
I charged the battery pushed the go button and away I went wow it was such a dream I could not believe a 80 volt battery so small could deliver such power one battery did the whole lawn front and back four inch high lawn cut through like a breeze even the onion grass was cut down no problem. I have a 700 sq block with a lot of grass. Only thirty minutes to fully charge a battery.
I'm sold goodbye to the smoky noisy combustion engine hello to the quiet lithium powered electric motor no doubt in my mind lithium is here for awhile yet and will definitely replace most petrol even diesel engines in a lot of instances.
To my my mind that's a lot of lithium demand and in all honesty can't see supply keeping up for a while yet.
Any company with a proven jorc and sound management will do very nicely I believe.
