Bruce i have great regard for our school teachers (except for the few who enjoy the power trip).

Having said that you really are way of the mark with your chemistry mate. We use pressurised heated water in the kitchen all the time, and there is no danger of hydrogen explosions.

If we could crack the water molecule with some heat and pressure, then we probably wouldn't be here discussing nuclear energy.
In fact i'd be out the back cooking up hydrogen for the car.
