0217 GMT [Dow Jones] Gold prices are up in Asian trade Monday, staying just above a psychological threshold of $1,150/oz as traders say U.S. interest rates aren't likely to rise soon and investors become more optimistic about continued gains in gold prices. Chow Tai Fook, one of the world's largest jewelers with a large retail chain in China, reported that retail sales in China rose by 9% compared to a year earlier in the second quarter ended September. Gold is trading at $1,157.50/oz, up from the $1,155.58/oz. ([email protected])
