The GRB business model has never worked from day one.
It is very hard to make money from 100% wholesale beer sales in Australia, especially if your main customer (and majority shareholder) is one of the major supermarket chains and you are 3500km from the main population centres.
The only way for GRB to make money is to improve the profit margins/litre either by increased sale prices, improved efficiencies and/or achieving retail sales margins (ie over the bar in your own venue). They are currently making beer for approximately $1.90/litre (ingredients/labour etc) and selling it for $2/litre. If they sold it over the bar, they would achieve approx. $20/litre ($10/pint), like Little Creatures has done for years.
GRB's profit margins per litre at the current production rate is the lowest it has been since WOW got involved. There is no point making more beer unless you can sell it at a profit!
WOW will not do them any favours.
