    For those interested in scripting to identify potential investments, I've been playing with this for a while and would highly recommend looking at R.

    R is a statistical programming language that is excellent for this kind of stuff. Entirely free, even RStudio which allows you to program and run code in an intuitive GUI.

    You can then use R with Quandl to get a data feed to play with.

    I did a few courses on datacamp, something I would highly recommend if you are interested in learning R. They even have a course specific to R and Quandl.

    Most scientists around the world use R these days, super easy, efficient and powerful.

    Some of you may find it a bit easier to pick up than Python.
