Opinion: Based on estimated grocery market growth of 2.5% both Coles and WOW lost market share. But Pendulum is starting to swing towards WOW.

Will WOW same store growth exceed market growth and will it catch up with Coles over the next few quarters?



+ WOW Number of transactions per same store was up 2.5% (vs down 1.2% SepQ15) (more shopping trips to WOW)
+ WOW Number of items purchase per same store was up 0.5% (vs down 2.3%SepQ15 ) (more items were sold per store)
+ WOW Number of items per basket - down 2.3% (vs down 0.5%SepQ15 ) (buying less goods per trip)
+ WOW Average price per item - down 1.9% (price deflation)

Opinion: More people are shopping in WOW but they are buying less per trip. (Inconvenience shopping - more price sensitive shopper willing to spend more time shopping benefiting from price deflation)
