The battle for market share in the $90 billion supermarket sector has crimped gains at Coles' food and liquor stores, where sales growth has slowed for the third consecutive quarter.
Coles continues to outperform arch rival Woolworths, where same-store food sales are forecast to grow between 0.3 per cent and 0.5 per cent for the September quarter. Woolworths' sales figures will be released on Friday.
