A proposal to lease land for a solar farm near the airport has been deferred to allow other interested parties to put forward submissions.
I would think CCE would be an interested party.
"Plans for a solar energy farm near the Albany Regional Airport have been deferred after the City of Albany council voted unanimously at the Tuesday night meeting.
Councillors were set to vote on lease proposal by Blue Planet Developments for proposed solar generation at Lot 8075 Albany Highway, past the Albany Airport, as revealed by the
Albany Advertiser last Thursday.
Councillor Greg Stocks moved the motion to defer. He said an open and transparent process was needed to allow other potential solar energy proponents to be involved.
“It’s a wonderful proposal ... it needs to be opened up to anyone with interest,” he said. “We need the best value for ratepayers.”
