Why did I say they performed well in a particular frequency range?Because that's what the announcementsaid:
To our astonishment, the test devices not only generated sound, they did so with exceptional efficiency throughout the low(bass) frequency spectrum.
The rest of my statement is, as already stated, reading between the lines - considering the next part of theannouncement (emphasis mine):
In-depthcharacterization of the Simplified Structure revealed that withrelatively slight adjustments to the structure design, and /or newly developed electronic and algorithmic controls, thesimplified structured devices can be evolved into a commerciallyviable product that offers a number of commercial advantages, notthe least of which would be a dramatic reduction in fabricationcosts. This effort is underway, running in parallel to ourstanding technology commercialization plan associated with the fullstructured devices. If the simplified structure had performed across the frequency spectrum, there would be no need for these adjustments or algorithmic controls. The wording here about evolving into a commercially viable product while continuing with commercialisation of the full structure also seems, to me, to imply there may be at least two product versions as an end result.
