The directors of SLA should educate themselves by looking at the shelves of Woolies! Lots of Blackmore's products there that make unspecific claims such as "May help with stress."

And then there is Panadol on the open shelves. This has an AUST R rating with the Thereupatics Goods Administration (TGA), whereas SLA's product has a much weaker AUST L rating.

I still think that SLA's closed door for consumers, and insistence on a health professional's prescription, is due to pride on the part of the directors. They don't want to think that their's is a common or garden AUST L rated product.

As an informative example, the attitude of the TGA is clearly set out for the AUST L rating of sunscreens.

The position of SLA is identical IMO. Note that AUST L sunscreens can make a claim such as
    • 'May reduce the risk of some skin cancers.'
If SLA is not prepared to make claims as vague as this then it can't think much of its own product.

IF what we are told about the meeting is correct, then SLA directors seem to have kicked bulldust into the eyes of those assembled. I can't see how they can get going with sales until they understand the freedom they have with an AUST L product.
