I also talked with Greig Smith and he said about a bridge and a new road re VPE but said he did not hold great hopes for the success.....or words of similar effect.That conversation was several weeks ago. Its wetter in Queensland than any year I have seen for many years.
I would not hold to many hopes of success. The alternative access is miles through Birdsville and that will probably flood. Take your money and reinvest IMHO.
