Low says health will be a political battleground come election time, pointing to Labor's promises to increase Medicare funding heading into the last election. He expects similar commitments this time around.

"We think medical centre groups (like Healius) would be supported with election promises of increased healthcare spending," he adds.

Stanton agrees that investors should look for stocks with earnings exposed to Medicare if they believe Labor will win the election.

"Healius (formerly known as Primary), Sonic and Integral Diagnostics would all be picks due to high exposure to Medicare," he adds.
