The MCG is a decrepit structure much in the mould of Football Park in West Lakes Adelaide, Green Park Stadium, Kanpur, WACA Ground, Subiaco Oval Perth, Hillsborough in Sheffield England and Heysel in Belgium. Like the old demolished Sydney Football Stadium In Moore Park, it needs to be demolished ASAP IMHO.
Albeit the MCG, a relic of Victorian Governments past, might only be responsible for fights in the crowds, the king hits, lack of security for non-brawlers, the poor playing surface and the poor amenities, food and beverage facilities, FoxTel’s Gilchrist, Warne and Border were heard to identify weaknesses in the venue on the days of the Australia- India Test Match in cricket.
However the Rance injury may not be due to the playing surface (a turgid drop-in cricket pitch and hard outfield might have nothing to do with the Rance injury).
the Victorian Government Under Daniel Andrews as Premier need to future proof the fate of footy and demolish the MCG for the good of the game, the people, the city, the State and the nation.
