It works for rugby - obviously the AFL have little interest in copying something that works - they are interested in turning Aussie Rules into a hybrid of all the other international ball sports.
Unfortunately this plan is doomed to fail. In the meantime the AFL wizards with a short term view count the dollars - soon they will be facing up to the awful fact that only 745 brave people witnessed the wind and water game between Port and Richmond (I hope that doesn't end up overseas to promote the game I used to love)
Perhaps Adelaide's home games could be played in Melbourne until they get a decent stadium.
