Biggest problem for CO2 is their lack of innovation. Visited their tent at the Dowerin Field Days yesterday. Asked if they were considering other crops that concurrently produced harvestable products such as sandalwood. The flat out answer was no. I don't doubt they will sign plenty of contracts with emiters but if you don't have a product farmers are interested in then those contracts aren't able to generate income.
A visit to the Carbon Conscious tent on the other hand and not only are they considering other crops they are working on the contract details and quantification models for carbon sequestration as we speak.
Often see the first movers get a little complacent and from what i can see that is the case with CO2. The next wave of companies is often comprised of people who learn from the first mover's mistakes. In this case it is CO2's fixation purely on mallees ...
