It'll be bumper profits from Wongan Hills south to Kojonup but not far east of a line say from Dowerin to Kulin. Also the Esperance zone will turn in yet another bumper season.
Previously many would never have achieved gross margins in excess of $1000/ha. This year some have achieved $1800/ha. It is a euphoric atmosphere but many would be still unaware of the wave of costs that will hit in 2008. Fertilizer, herbicides, lease rates, freight rates all set to rise double digits ...
The boom is here but it will be followed by gloom on the costs front ... No boom ever comes cheaply
