Actually important point I should repeat here the illustrates the motivation for HRE deletion from NdFeB and one of the main reasons it hasn't slowed despite DyO prices fallen close to LT average <$100kg.
Note the Remanence, "flux or strength", INCREASES with the deletion of HRE, effectively making the magnet stronger, while the Coercivity, "loss of magnetisation", now remains constant at successive reduction of HRE.
Not only does HRE add to the COST of the mag but it also WEAKENS performance.
Powerful motivation to continue down the deletion curve, in a world where cost efficiency is a central theme to any business the rationalisation for DyO deletion is quite obvious.
