Where I see something that I believe is nonsense then I believe it is important to point it out as soon as possible, even if it has come from a supposed expert. The sooner it is pointed out then perhaps the sooner misinformation is not spread. There are likely some viewers who utilise Hotcopper as assisting in their research/knowledge of stocks, so the sooner any nonsense is corrected the better, in my humble opinion.

Anyway, based on UY post above it seems my understanding was correct, if one is starting from a concentrate then you need to multiply by the concentrate grade to calculate the contained Tantulum and then apply the price to that.

"[Value tantalite] = weight of material x 30% [x conversion to lb if necessary] x X$/lb Ta2O5"

And that's from the Tantulum-Niobium International learning centre, one would expect they would know a little bit about the correct valuation method. As such can I suggest you double check with your expert or seek a second opinion on what is the correct value of a 1 tonne concentrate with 30% contained TA2O5.

Hopefully we now have the basics sorted out and we can then move on to the more important matter of what was shipped in January etc

With the basics hopefully under our belt we know need to determine whether those shipments are 20t of concentrate at 30% or whether it's 20t of contained Tantulum and they are just providing the grade so that we know it's good stuff.

What's people's thoughts is it concentrate or contained Tantulum? Big difference in value based on whichever you think it is in my humble opinion.

I am not an expert in this field but simple fact that we are selling tantalum to local and overseas customers while others are stockpiling and/or struggling to find a buyer tells me all about quality of our product.

Perhaps you can find answer in A40 report which is quoting that we sold to GAM tantalum concentrate (3.13% TA2O2) as well high-grade concentrate grading in excess of 30% contained TA2O2 to Stark.

As per your quotes, if your are not the expert and other experts are wrong it's time to move on or just call A40 and asked if they can explain to you.

Please note that A40 is quoting HIGH GRADE and that could be a reason why Stark is one of our customers.
